Waves beat against boulders, grasses bend in the breeze, water tumbles down rocky stream beds. One finds such scenes at Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary. Enjoy rugged trails crossing 400 acres of forests, bluffs, beaches and bogs.

The Bruce Irons trail is a special part of Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary dedicated to Bruce Irons who loved the Vineyard and cared deeply about protecting and conserving it.

From State Road, take Indian Hill Road 1.3 miles and turn right onto the Obed Daggett Road. Following the “Sanctuary” signs, take Obed Daggett Road to the trailhead. There is a second trailhead and parking at Norton Circle.

A new addition to Cedar Tree Neck is the Irvin Trail, a two-mile ramble through undulating woodlands with views over Vineyard Sound. It meanders from Indian Hill Road down to the sanctuary's white trail. The Irvin (green) trail can be accessed from the lower parking lot off Obed Daggett Road or from a small, two-car trailhead on Indian Hill Road.
