Cloverdale River Park runs along the west bank of the Russian River in northern Sonoma County. The 72-acre park features a paved, 1-mile trail through river habitat, a launch for kayaks and canoes, fishing access, and picnic sites.
This park is a beautiful spot for birding and wildlife viewing. Informational signs about riparian plants and animals are posted along the trail.
The most prominent plant community along the trail is the cottonwood tree, though you'll also notice California walnut, maple, buckeye and willow. Large coast and valley oaks are located near the trailhead in the parking area.
Benches and picnic tables are located along the trail. There is a restroom but no drinking fountain or lifeguard. The park is the only public, developed river access between Mendocino County and Healdsburg.
