At the northeast corner of Fletcher Drive and the Los Angeles River, the iconic pink Great Heron Gates designed by steel artist Brett Goldstone provide access to Rattlesnake Park, the Los Angeles River Bike Path. and the Elysian Valley portion of the Los Angeles River Recreation Zone. During favorable conditions in the summer months Rattlesnake park is a put-in location to kayak on the Los Angeles River.  One can also put-in further east of the 2 freeeway.
