A beautiful part of the 10 mile cross-West Tisbury trail. If starting at Duarte’s Pond on the Lambert’s Cove Road and going through Wompesket Preserve, hikers will appreciate the expansive farm fields and the contrast between the dry, open plains here against the sopping wetlands of the Wompesket Preserve.

From the intersection of the State and Old County Roads. Continue south 0.1 miles down the State Road; driveway is on the right, which leads to the trailhead.   Or park at the Blackwater Pond Reservation and walk from there to enjoy the full trail.
