With its grand opening projected in Spring 2021, this 16-acre conservation area will be transformed into a multi-faceted attraction you'll definitely want to visit! The historic property is situated on the barrier island's Jungle Trail, and is designed to improve water quality in the Lagoon, preserve space for wildlife and passive recreation, and create a venue for educational opportunities in the County. The site will include a 4-acre created saltmarsh, a one-mile ADA accessible pedestrian loop trail, restored hammock, picnic pavilion, restroom, parking, and a future community garden. Plans are also underway to elevate and restore the historic home for a future educational museum.
