Species you may find throughout Coastal Florida...Dowitchers are found throughout coastal Florida within marshes, mud flats and tidal areas. Short-billed dowitchers prefer saltwater and brackish areas, whereas long-billed dowitchers prefer freshwater environments. For both species, only the male takes care of the young after they hatch!
