We're thrilled to announce an exciting new feature in the OuterSpatial app — the Create a Report tool. This handy tool allows you to easily share your firsthand knowledge and experiences about trail conditions, hazards, and incidents with fellow adventurers and the organizations that steward your favorite outdoor places.
Here's how it works: When you're out exploring and come across something notable, simply open the OuterSpatial app, tap the “Create” button, and then tap the new "Report" button. You can quickly submit a report on things like trail conditions (crowdedness, muddy patches, icy sections, bug issues), hazards (downed trees blocking the path, missing trail signs), or incidents (encounters with aggressive wildlife or off-leash dogs).
Your reports populate in the app for other visitors to see, helping them plan their adventures and know what to expect out in parks and on the trail. And stewardship organizations can access your valuable on-the-ground insights to better understand visitation patterns and prioritize maintenance needs. It's a win-win!
Think of it like leaving a helpful note for your fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Your reports can give others a heads up about current conditions, steer them clear of potential hazards, and notify the right people about issues that need addressing. Plus, it's super quick and easy to create a report right from your phone while you're out adventuring.
We can't wait to see the OuterSpatial community putting this new tool to good use and sharing their insights! Your reports play an important role in helping others make the most of their outdoor experiences and enabling organizations to keep parks and trails safe and enjoyable for all.
So before your next outdoor adventure, make sure you've updated your OuterSpatial app to access the "Create a Report" tool. Together, we can harness the power of the community to improve the outdoor experience for all.
See you out there!
