Here in New Hampshire, we are so very fortunate to have such incredible habitat and protected open spaces, right in our own back yards. This hike is at our beloved Conservation Center in Concord and the Merrimack River Outdoor Education & Conservation Area (known as the floodplain) that is ever-changing with the seasons. We have heard so many times, while out walking with our community, that folks had no idea that this beautiful nature preserve was here, and so accessible.
On this family friendly hike, we will take an introductory walk along our Floodplain and check out some of the wild neighbors that live there including beaver and waterfowl and, if we are lucky, we may spot an eagle on the Merrimack.
*Be sure to dress appropriately and wear sturdy weatherproof shoes. Bring a camera, some snacks, water and your sense of adventure.
