71 South is hosting the 1st Annual Summer Sets Session from 4-7pm on Saturday, September 23 at Baker Creek Preserve. Free to enter, free to watch and prizes for the winners!
There will be live music performed by The JayStorm Project afterwards (7:30ppm) at 71 South.
Summer Sets Session will consist of two events: Pump Track Time Trials and Flow Trail Freestyle. Riders can register for one or both events; categories to register in are Youth (15 and younger), Women’s (16 and older) and Men’s (16 and older). Guest appearances will include Pro BMX riders Marc Willers, Philip Kaiser, and Tommy Zola.
A portion of the proceeds from 71 South’s sales that day will be donated to AMBC. The event will also bring attention to the BMX track project that was in the works prior to COVID and has since been tabled. Knoxville has grown to become a national destination for the biking community. Part of that community, and the part that is missing from Knoxville, is the BMX riders. Revitalizing the BMX track project will put us on the stage for Nationals, an event that has the potential to draw the same attention as USA Cycling and The Bass Master Classic.
Sponsors include: Craft Bastard Baker Creek, Bear Paw Bikes, and Hummingbird Apothecary.
