The northeastern shore of Lake Erie is one of the most sparsely populated sections of the lake in Ohio, and the region least visited by birders. Nonetheless, scores of rarities have turned up in this area and huge numbers of migrant shorebirds, gulls, and waterfowl pass through. Six sites are featured on this loop, and one of them, Conneaut Harbor, has produced an impressive number of rare birds.
