This short ride is defined by off-road paths that act as shortcuts in east St. Helena for bicyclists
and pedestrians. The small on-road segments are on largely quiet, low-traffic residential streets.
If biking across Chiles Avenue near Pope Street feels uncomfortable for you or any little ones,
it’s always okay to walk your bike across the crosswalk. The “walking path” east of Adams Street
is an unpaved dirt/gravel path, so it may not be suitable for a road bike. All of the off-road paths
are narrower than best practice standards, so please be conscious of other path users, and
practice trail etiquette by riding on the right side and using a bell or your voice when passing.
