- From the parking lot, you’ll head east on the Causeway Trail, passing a large barn on your left. You’ll cross seasonal Tolay Lake, which in the summer is a dry wetland. At the far east end of the lake, you’ll reach the junction of East Ridge Trail and Pond Trail, passing through a ranch gate.
- Continue straight toward the hills, on East Ridge Trail. You’ll skirt the edge of a neighboring vineyard. Pass through another gate and curve left to the East Ridge Trail. You’ll begin gently gaining elevation as the trail climbs clockwise up the mountain.
- Follow the border of the vineyard on the left and the parkland on the right, passing through another ranch gate. You’ll soon enter the shade of an old oak grove, then leave the tree cover and continue following the upper park boundary.
- Make the final short ascent to Three Bridges Vista Point, a bald knoll with sweeping views of San Pablo Bay and distant bridges. Return on the same route.
