Where a stream flows quietly through a brushy valley, there was once a well-kept swimming pool complete with diving platforms and lights. During the 1920-40's, at the height of popularity for the Argonne Forest Park, a large swimming pool was created by damming Possum Creek with concrete walls and a spillway. A concession stand was made from an old street car and sat on the patio near the pool spillway.
The crumbled walls of the pool and steps to the diving platform are all that remain of this bygone era of Dayton history, They are silent reminders of a favorite pastime spot.
