Capell Cove Boat Launch, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, is a public boat launch located on the southwestern shore of Lake Berryessa. Popular with water-skiers and anglers, the parking lot fills early in the summer as it is the closest public boat launch for both Solano and Napa County. There is a paved parking lot, porta-potties and picnic areas. Note, the Cove is closed as of October 2015 due to low water levels.
Lake Berryessa, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation is a man-made lake covering nearly 20,000 acres. The Lake provides electricity and drinking water to Solano County and is open for most recreational activities including boating, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking and equestrian trails. There are multiple day use facilities and recreation areas managed by concessionaires under contract with the Bureau. The recreation areas hosts camping for both tents and RV’s, boat launches, picnic areas, some convenience stores, boat kayak, paddleboard and jet ski rentals and are located on the shores of the lake. The day use areas provide lake access for swimming, shaded picnic areas including BBQ’s and hiking trails along the lake edge. The Lake sits on the eastern border of Napa County and is easily accessed by Yolo, Solano and Napa Counties.
