The trail climbs through four switch backs and terminates at at former picnic site. There are several outstanding views of Beauty Bay and Blue Creek from the higher reaches of the trail. The initial climb is steep with potentially dangerous spots, not recommended for children. The view from the ridge is somewhat limited by tree growth since the trail's dedication in 1983, but still a worthwhile clime. From the ridge the trail continues on to climb Mt. Coeur d'Alene. In spring, Beauty Creek can be icy cold but not likely uncrossable.
