Very scenic trail. It starts in forest, travels across open slopes with views of the Columbia River Basin, and then it begins to climb up valley through subalpine forest and meadows to Horsehead Pass. From the pass you can connect to Chelan Summit Trail near Boiling Lake. Martin Creek Trail #429 takes off at 2 miles. At 5.5 miles, just past an overlook with benches, the Upper Eagle Lake Trail #431A branch right. At 6 miles, the Lower Eagle Trail #431B forks left.

Driving Directions:
From Twisp take State Route 20 east for 3 miles, then continue south on to State Route 153 to Okanogan County Road 1029. Turn right on County Road 1034 (Gold Creek Road), which becomes Forest Service Road 4340. Follow for 5.5 miles and turn left on Forest Service Road 4340-300. Follow for 4.6 miles to the trailhead.
