The Fish Lake recreation area can be accessed by State Highway 140, the Dead Indian Memorial Road or the Butte Falls/Fish Lake Highway. Fish Lake is nestled in the High Cascades between Mount McLoughlin and Brown Mountain, both of which are relatively young volcanoes. The area hosts a number of recreational activities, including boating, canoeing, camping, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking! Trails to suit multiple needs can be found throughout the area, including the nearby Sky Lakes Wilderness, Brown Mountain and Mt. McLoughlin areas.
Please Note: The lake is used as an irrigation reservoir, and lake levels can be lower at the end of the summer.
