Thirty five minutes west of Chemult, Oregon, lies Gideon Creek Day Use Area. There are three parking spaces and a short walk down to a dock (5' by 12') on Miller Lake. You’ll find two picnic tables and one rock fire ring. Wildflowers and Washington lilies bloom all summer long, enhancing to the beauty of this site.
Gideon Creek Day Use Area is a wonderful location for picnicking, photography, birding, and just relaxing to enjoy the stunning views of Miller Lake. Lift your gaze skyward to spy loons, osprey, and bald eagles. You also may glimpse river otters bobbing in the lake, Pacific tree frogs and Cascade frogs, or the occasional marten on land.
Alert: No potable water. Visitors need to bring an adequate supply of water.
