Many spring daffodils can be found blooming in the Hawthorn bed located at the top of the Primrose Garden. Giant Solomon Seal (Polygonatum biflorum var. commutatum) line the beds through spring and autumn, offering blooms and berries favored by birds.
Note the diverse textures of the border foliage. Summer-long ground covers take over from the spring bulbs that flower and die. Subtly cultivated species have been interwoven with wildlings.
