Tadmor, in the North Park area of Taylorsville MetroPark, was once the busiest crossroads in the country - with all four means of transportation of the day (canal, railroad, river and road) within yards of each other.
After traveling along the west side of the river near Tadmor, the Miami Erie Canal crossed to the east side of the river to the town of Taylorsville, which is now on the land that is now the Bridgewater/Shumard section of the park. In this area, you can still see remnants of the canal if you look closely.
