The completion of Glacier Dam at “The Narrows” in 1906 created the 44-acre Lake Glacier. In the 1920s, Lake Glacier was a popular, sandy beach area and had a Bath House on the East and West side. The lake eventually closed to swimming due to water contamination after Volney Rogers lost the battle to keep sewage lines from running through the park. Today Lake Glacier is a popular spot for fishing, pedal boats, and kayaking.
