This little barn was designed and built in 1906 by Herrman von Holst. In the space between the two sections of the building, you can notice a large cordwood saw extending from the left wall. At the time, this was the latest and most advanced model of such a saw.
The right half of the building was used as a pig pen and stable for the Glessner family hogs.
This building now houses the NH Maple Museum and is popular for visiting tour groups and school groups, excited to learn about authentic New England maple syrup production. The New Hampshire Maple Experience is a hands-on educational experience that includes a visit to the working sugar house and interactive museum comprising maple artifacts from the extensive collection of legendary sugar maker Charlie Stewart of nearby Sugar Hill.
