Don't be fooled, this lot is not at mile 16 of the road. It takes its name from being the lower twin of the Mile 16 downhill ski/snowboard/bike run, which begins up above at (you guessed it!) mile 16.

Often a quiet and seemingly oversized parking area, this lot comes to life on sunny winter days when a steady stream of cars and trucks pull in to pick up the skiers and snowboarders who were dropped off above just minutes before, then pull out again to repeat the "shuttle run."
