42 Dreyfous Dr., NOLA 70124
In the 1890s, many concerts were held along City Park Avenue. By the beginning of the 19th-century, concerts in the Park was so popular that a few improvements (the Langles Bridge, Popp’s Bandstand, and the Casino Building) were constructed in order to make use of the north side of Bayou Metairie. In 1907, the Peristyle was built as an elegant platform to give people a place to dance. Of the structures in the Park, this building most closely approaches a purely classic form.
