The one-mile long River Trail gets its name from the way it follows the Tualatin River for much of its distance. On this trail, you'll meander through a variety of refuge habitats, past wildlife viewpoints and interpretive stops, and end up at an expansive view of the Refuge at the wetland observation deck. This trail surface is made up of compact small gravel. From the parking lot to the wetland observation deck, the grade of the year-round nature trail does not exceed 5%.
Restrooms and water fountains are located at the shelter near the trailhead. There are no additional restrooms or water fountains along the trail.
