Take a look around you, on both sides of the trail.  There are many different types of plants--maple and oak trees, shrubs, ferns and flowers.  You may also see or hear a mouse, chipmunk or gray squirrel.  Every plant and animal is different but everything is connected.  Ecology is the study of the ways plants and animals connect with their environment and with each other.
