2. 4 Mile long N/S 10-foot wide asphalt multi-use trail along the east side of Second Street, from Prosperity Avenue to Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge. A portion of the trail runs adjacent to active rail tracks. Destinations along the trail include the following: Mountain View Elementary School, Mountain View Community Center, and the Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge - located on the former site of a dairy farm. Parking is available at the south end of the trail at Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge on 2nd St SW. The trail is also accessible via another multi-use trail along the southside of Rio Bravo Blvd. Other connections include the Chris Chavez Trail, which is a 5.2 mile loop.
