The Old Dougherty Road Trail beings at the intersection of Ivy Leaf Springs and Stoneleaf Roads. This is also the intersection of the West Alamo Creek Trail and the Mourning Dove Trail. The trail heads south following the Old Dougherty Road and crosses over the Alamo Creek. The trail ends at Bollinger Canyon Road.
