This trail is an easement granted to the Martha's Vineyard Land Bank by the Sheriff's Meadow Foundation. It wanders around through scrubby woodlands and along the edges of an open field near Blackpoint Pond which is all part of a coastal sandplain. As you walk through the wooded area you will see beautiful old oak trees that spread out low and gnarly as they have been shaped for years by constant winds.
