History
Clear Creek Trail was acquired in 1997 by 12 separate purchases with the City of Bloomington Utilities. A 'linear park', this trail offers an alternative means of transportation and represents a long-term commitment to connect public facilities by routes that do not require vehicles. Phase I of the Clear Creek Trail between Tapp Road and That Road was opened on May 23, 2001. Phase II from That Road to Church Lane opened on Oct. 30, 2003.
The 150' wrought-iron bridge was moved from its original home in Warren County where it spanned Big Pine Creek since 1887. The bridge was painstakingly restored, then placed over Clear Creek near the Church Lane trailhead on August 1, 2003.
