The Cottonwood Creek Wetlands Trail crosses through the beautiful and unique Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge. The trail is rather marshy and wet (depending on weather and season) but the unique ecosystem and scenery makes up for it. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and unique plants - the area has silver-berry, 'Eskimo Potato', and wild irises. It is also a listed "Important Bird Area." The first section of the trail allows motorized use. This area is a fishing and waterfowl hunting destination during the season.
The parking area has an outhouse.
