The Hastain Trail is located within Franklin Canyon Park and begins with a climb up the east side of Franklin Canyon along a wide dirt trail. The trail includes a fairly steep section with slippery footing, so travel with caution down this portion of the trail. At the end of the public trail is a scenic viewpoint over the Lower Franklin Reservoir and Beverly Hills.
From West Hollywood head west on Sunset Boulevard. Turn right on North Alpine Drive. Slight left onto Lexington Road. Take the second right onto North Rexford Drive. Take the first right onto North Beverly Drive and turn left to stay on North Beverly Drive. Turn right onto Franklin Caynon Drive. Take the second right onto Lake Drive. After 0.4 miles, the trailhead will be on the left.
