True to its name, the Hilly Loop travels up and down a narrow footpath through lush boreal forest covering the gravelly moraines left by retreating glaciers. Several viewpoints and picnic benches give some rest along the trail, including a short spur trail to a serene (but buggy) overlook of Okeson Lake. Though open to bikes, this trail is best suited for walking or running.

Hilly Loop and Arboretum Loop are the two main MatSu College trails, but they connect with a much larger trail system. There are 3 access points on MatSu College campus, with the Mat-Su College Trailhead (next to the Glenn Massey Theater) being the easiest access to the Hilly Loop. Please note that campus hours vary and the gate may be closed.
