The Indian Mound Trail begins at the site of an authentic prehistoric Indian Mound labeled as Adena. The trail soon passes through one of the only remaining meadows of the park, then winds leisurely along Little Four Mile Creek where occasionally the water drops over broken layers of limestone to form small cascades. Along the bank, the fossiliferous limestone is exposed and here you can undertake searches for good specimens of fossils. Hikers should exercise caution after heavy rains.
