Named after the godmother of the environmental movement in southwestern Ohio and namesake of Aullwood Garden MetroPark, this gentle 1-mile trail affords visitors a chance to enjoy nature in the wild. It is adorned by a stunning variety of trees and wildflowers, and provides many opportunities for spotting native birds and wildlife. Spring wildflowers and an excellent example of a swamp forest will delight hikers.
The northern portion of the trail was dramatically impacted by the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes. Access is limited in areas. Because the trail goes through a swamp, it may also be muddy or impassable during wet periods. This habitat also makes it prone to mosquitoes; take appropriate precautions to prevent bites.
If headed into the gardens after your dog walk, please remember that dogs are not permitted in the Children’s Discovery Garden.
Those looking for a longer hike are encouraged to link the Marie Aull Trail, to additional trails in the park such as the community garden perimeter trail, and either backtracking or following the paved surface of the paved Stillwater River Trail back to the main parking lot.
