The two-mile McRoerts Creek Trail is wide with varied terrain. Starting from the end of Smith Road, it runs parallel to and connects with the Matanuska Peak trail, as well as several social trails that ascend Lazy Mountain.  At about 1.5 miles, it crosses a micro-hydroelectric project. 2 miles in, it merges with the Matanuska Peak trail and continues up to the Matanuska Bowl and to Matanuska Peak beyond.

Areas of the McRoberts Creek trail can be muddy in any season.
