The road starts 100 yards past Kōkeʻe State Park headquarters along Highway 550. This unpaved road provides access to many of the trails in Kōkeʻe State Park and Nā Pali-Kona Forest Reserve. Vehicular travel (4 wheel drive only) is recommended only during dry conditions because of steep and exceedingly slippery soil conditions.

There is no permitted camping for commercial purposes. Do not use any trail or access road that is not delineated by name and color and that may also be displayed on these maps. Other trails or roads that branch off from the public features may be on private property, and are not managed for any public recreational use.
