The easily accessible North Grove is historically significant as the discovery site of the Giant Sequoias. The 1.7-mile trail loops through the grove past the Big Stump, Mother and Father of the Forest, and the largest tree in the North Grove, the Empire State. There are 26 markers along this trail and a trail guide to walk you through the history and ecology found in the park. While this trail is seemingly short, you can easily spend one to two hours meandering through the forest.
