This trail follows the historic railroad route alongside the Matanuska River. For the first mile, the trail is wide, flat and easy to navigate, a great place for short jogs and walking dogs. After that point, the trail is unmaintained and rock-slides have made the trail more technical. The railroad historically traveled to Sutton.  A variety of steep, unmaintained social trails can lead one to riverbank.
