The Quail Run trail begins at the Rancho San Ramon Community Park and is a great trail to connect to the Dougherty Valley Ridge Trail for spectacular views of the San Ramon and Dougherty Valleys as well as Mount Diablo.  Hikers will follow a grassy and dirt path wrapping around the Dougherty Valley Service Center.  Once through the cattle gate, hikers will hike uphill on the ridge line until the trail intersects with the Dougherty Valley Ridge Trail.  In the winter and spring the trail may be covered by grass, so it is recommend to use the map feature in OuterSpatial to assist with navigating the trail.  Hikers may encounter cattle on this trail, please review cattle grazing area safety tips in the San Ramon Trail System Rules & Etiquette.
