This 8 mile strenuous trail is not a loop. This south facing hiking has a 1,000 foot elevation gain as you climb up out of the Stanislaus River Canyon. This trail head starts at the Scenic Overlook and ends in the same location. Please make sure you  pack a lunch, bring water and wear sturdy shoes for this adventurous hike. Cell phone service is not avaible in the canyon.
