The Thoreau Trail leads from the network of trails that originate from the Old Half Way House site and leads to the Cliff Walk where the Thoreau's Seat and Emerson's Seat landmarks may be found. This trail was named in honor of literary icon Henry David Thoreau who visited the mountain four times during his lifetime.
