Vasquez Loop Trail is currently a 0.42-mile trail, but is proposed to be extended into a 17.3-mile trail in the future. The existing trail runs partially along a street shoulder, and partially on an open hillside. The eastern trail end provides a great view of the desert and surrounding valley. The desert environment in which this trail is located may bring trail users close to lizards, birds, and other wildlife, but will not provide shade.
