The Hopatcong Recreation Hub is in large part the area of a long abandoned golf course, which has since become the athletic facilities (e.g., the Threlkeld Hilltop Sports Complex and fields at Veterans Park) used by the Hopatcong High School, Middle School, and Durban Avenue Elementary. Even the former clubhouse is now the Borough Senior Center.
